Went to the Zoo

Stefanie and Tim took me to Toronto Zoo on Sunday. We had a really fun day with a lovely picnic, the weather was just perfect and we walked and walked and walked. I am paying for it today, my muscles in my legs are painful. The young ones forget I am older than they are and not as agile.

I am sure Stefanie's pictures are much better than mine but here are a few for you to enjoy.

Milton Farm Fall Craft Show

Had a wonderful time at the Milton Farm Fall Show, the weather was perfect, the crowds were out enjoying themselves and the sales were amazing.

Stefanie did a wonderful job of keeping the business going in my absence and was very proud of the fact that she sold more than me. We both did very well and are now trying to get some more items made for our Christmas shows.

Enjoy a few photos of some of the items we were selling.

Catamaran trip part 3

Our trip was almost over as we headed back to the catamaran and home. On the way back we pulled into a small cove where we spent time swimming and snorkeling.

We even saw a pirate ship.

Once back on board the party started everyone dancing and drinking rum punch, we had so much fun and afterwards realised we didn't take any pictures.(Or maybe Doug deleted them)We arrived back at the hotel exhausted it had been a full day but well worth it.

Can't wait to go back to St Lucia.

Catamaran trip part 2

After lunch in a small restuarant which looked down on the town of Soufriere with a wonderful view of the Pitons, we set of to see the volcano and sulphur springs.

Although the volcano last erupted in the seventeen hundreds it certainly didn't look dormant as it is surrounded by hot sulphur springs and the steam gives it a feeling of being about to erupt. We were lucky the day we visited as the wind blew the sulphur away from us, we were told some days the smell is really bad.

Catamaran Trip Part 1

We took a Catamaran trip which sailed the west coast of St Lucia past the Pitons.

We stopped at Soufriere and you could see the French influence in the architecture, it looked like a smaller version of New Orleans with some wonderful old buildings.

We then took a bus, stopping at the botanical gardens where we saw many exotic plants and flowers but all very similar to those we see here in Trinidad.

We ended our tour of the gardens at a waterfall which is fed from the sulphur springs which surround the volcano on the island, before stopping for lunch.

A morning in Castries

When we were in St Lucia we spent the morning in the capital city Castries.

We saw some interesting sites like the man selling freshly caught fish from a cart he was pushing along the street, not sure what type of fish but they looked like sardines.

We also visited a spice market where you could buy everything you would ever need in your spice rack. Check out the size of the cinnamon.

Before meeting our taxi to go back to the hotel, we stopped for a beer at a bar called Sexy bar and restuarant..............still trying to decide what was sexy about it.

St Lucia .

We had a wonderful time in St Lucia, a beautiful island and lovely people. We were really lucky with our choice of time to visit. As it is hurricane season, it is the quiet time for tourists, we almost had the beach to ourselves. We stayed in Rodney Bay which is north of the island very easy to get around with some great restaurants.

We flew via St Vincent and flew over the Grenadine Islands which are owned by St Vincent, lots of small tropical islands which looked beautiful from the air.

Lots of pictures to show, will start with some of the Grenadine islands and the beach.
